description
Whereas the community and gaming/digital literacies research lines provide an entry point for our Novice Researchers to learn about qualitative inquiry, this line becomes the space for our Novice Researchers (once they start working on their senior theses) and our Advanced Researchers to translate what they have learned about literacy to their own practice as teachers. This line is also the place where we can extend most of our collaboration with our International Affiliates. This research line hosts both full-fledged research projects as well as our researchers' undergraduate and master's theses and doctoral dissertations.
This line of inquiry intends to explore how 21st century literacies are emerging in specific spaces in our local educational contexts. Drawing from the linguistic, semiotic, and aesthetic dimensions of literacy practices, our research intends to explore how literacies emerge in all spaces of the P-20 educational structure (P-20 = From preschool to graduate and continuing education), with a specific interest at the tertiary level on English teachers.
